About Me

I know that seeking therapy can be overwhelming, but I am here to help so you don't have to try to struggle to navigate it on your own.

I am passionate about working with you to resolve the root cause of your distress so your fear doesn't get in the way.  Whether that you are looking to reduce the impact of your mental health symptoms, build your confidence and skills that you can manage the day-today stressors of your life, feel more connected and effective in your parenting role, or to strengthen your connection and skills for managing communication with your partner, you're in the right place.

I am certified EMDR therapist with training in attachment, trauma, family systems, Gottman Relationship Skills, Attachment Based Parenting, mindfulness and resiliency.

I am a OCSWSSW Registered Social Worker.  I completed my Masters of Social Work program from Wilfried Laurier University in 2022 with an emphasis on working with individuals, families, and groups. Prior to that I completed my Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Social Developmental Studies both at the University of Waterloo.

I attended EMDR training in 2016, and achieved my EMDRIA certification in 2019 during my internship with Dr. Amanda Bell & Associates in London.

I have been a therapist for over 20 years working with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers and families in children's mental health.

I opened my private practice near Gorrie, ON in 2016.  My office is located just off a quiet country road where the counties of Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington counties meet & offer online sessions throughout Ontario.  I opened my private practice in the same rural, farming community where was raised, and now live with my family.  Being a business owner, wife, and mother to a daughter about to start University, while my parents are aging and facing their own medical challenges, I appreciate how challenging it can be to balance work & home life.

For the past 10 years I have been providing through to first responders and their families.  I understand the inherent stress & trauma that comes from putting your life on the line to support others in some of their most traumatic and difficult moments and the toll this takes on family life and relationships.

I am an approved provider for the Victim Services Quick Response (VQRP) programs for Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington counties.

Many of the clients that I work with say that they are surprised by how quickly EMDR therapy resolves their trauma, the clarity and understand they gain, how much calmer they feel by the end of therapy, and how much more confident they feel that they can handle their day-to-day challenges at work and home.
